August is still monsoon across South Asia and the rainy season across much of mainland Southeast Asia, so falls there run full and brown-to-turquoise. Northern summer continues, and at Victoria Falls the water is dropping fast — which is what opens Devil's Pool on the lip, usually from mid-month.
