One of Bali's tallest waterfalls drops into a deep ravine reached by a long, steep concrete staircase through rice terraces and jungle, considerably less crowded than the island more famous falls. Locally the name translates roughly to green mountain, describing the thick forest that surrounds the plunge pool.

Nungnung Falls drops 50 metres (164 ft) on the Nungnung stream. It is a plunge-type fall, and the nearest base for a visit is Petang, with DPS the closest airport. Access to the main viewpoint is rated moderate.
As a plunge waterfall, water leaves the rock entirely and falls free through the air.
