Toccoa Falls
Taller than Niagara despite its modest width, this free-falling curtain sits on the grounds of a small Christian college and is reached by a five-minute walk from the visitor center. A 1977 dam failure above the falls caused a flood that killed dozens on campus, a tragedy still marked by a memorial nearby.
