Marokopa Falls
A wide, feathery curtain drops through native bush 31 km west of the Waitomo Glowworm Caves on Te Anga Road, reached by an easy walk of about ten minutes each way from the roadside car park. It's one of the most-photographed waterfalls in the King Country region of the North Island.

Marokopa Falls drops 35 metres (115 ft) on the Marokopa. It is a horsetail-type fall, and the nearest base for a visit is Waitomo, with HLZ the closest airport. Access to the main viewpoint is rated easy.
As a horsetail waterfall, water stays in contact with the rock as it falls.

A walk-in-and-look waterfall
No commercial adventures run at Marokopa Falls itself — the experience is the approach and the view. Guided day trips from Waitomo are the easiest way to combine it with the area around it.
