Twin streams from Lotevatnet pour down the same mountainside and join partway down before rushing together under a 19th-century stone road bridge, one of the most striking roadside waterfalls on Norway's fjord circuit. No hike is needed — the main road runs directly past the base.

Latefossen drops 165 metres (541 ft) on the Espelandselva. It is a segmented-type fall, and the nearest base for a visit is Odda, with BGO the closest airport. Access to the main viewpoint is rated easy.
As a segmented waterfall, the flow splits into separate strands as it falls.

A walk-in-and-look waterfall
No commercial adventures run at Latefossen itself — the experience is the approach and the view. Guided day trips from Odda are the easiest way to combine it with the area around it.
