A wide ledge of rock behind the falling water lets visitors walk fully behind the curtain, a feature that made it a filming location for the Batcave entrance in The Dark Knight Rises. It is one of several waterfalls on the Four Falls Trail through this stretch of the Brecon Beacons.

Henrhyd Falls drops 27 metres (89 ft) on the Nant Llech, inside Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. It is a plunge-type fall, and the nearest base for a visit is Coelbren, with CWL the closest airport. Access to the main viewpoint is rated moderate.
As a plunge waterfall, water leaves the rock entirely and falls free through the air.
