Bungee jumping at waterfalls
Waterfall gorges make the world's most photogenic bungee sites — a bridge, a river, and a few hundred feet of nothing.
A waterfall bungee is usually a bridge jump: the gorges that big rivers cut below their falls are spanned by high road or rail bridges, and a few of those bridges carry some of the most famous jumps in the world. The drop is over water or a gorge floor, the view is the falls, and the whole thing takes about four seconds.
Worth knowing before you book
- Most operators set a minimum age (often 14) and a weight range, and weigh you on the day.
- The price usually covers the jump only; photos and video are sold separately.
- Many bridge jumps sit on an international border, so bring your passport even if you are not crossing.
Safety
Choose an operator with a published safety record and certification. Tell them about back, neck, heart or pregnancy issues before you pay, not after you are harnessed.
